Saatvaks organisatsiooniks on Avatud Ühiskond MTÜ. Noortevahetuse eesmärk on tuua kokku noored huvilised vanuses 16-25, et mõtestada noorte jaoks tervisliku internetitarbimise harjumuse kujundamist. Osalejate jaoks toimub ettevalmistav kohtumine Tallinnas.

Rahvusvaheline noortevahetus on erinevatest Euroopa riikidest pärit noortegruppide omavaheline koostööprojekt, mis on välja töötatud ja ellu viidud noorte poolt ning kus tegeletakse noorte jaoks oluliste teemadega. Projekt võib kesta 5-21 päeva. Noortevahetus on hea võimalus õppida tundma teisi kultuure ja noori teistest riikidest ning tegeleda just nende teemadega, mis on noorte jaoks olulised. Noortevahetuses saavad osaleda noored vanuses 13–30 eluaastat, oluline pole noore perekonnaseis, haridustase, rahvus ega keeleoskus. Noortevahetuses osalemiseks on tähtsaim noore soov kogeda ja õppida midagi uut. Saatvaks organisatsiooniks on Avatud Ühiskond MTÜ.

General information and description of the project

The Youth Exchange “iCitizen 2.0” is organized by cultural association “Fiatalok a részvételért Egyesületa” in Liptod, Hungary, during the period of 18.05.2020 – 24.05.2020, including 35 participants and five members from each country(four participants + group leader).

The youth exchange takes place between 18’th of October til 24’th of May 2019 in Hungary, whereas you may arrive and departure two days priorly or after.

The competencies we intend to acquire participants in this mobility are not directly related to a particular field, being multidisciplinary. The methods used are based on non-formal education and will make the transition from the information received to the transmitted information, with emphasis on the process of learning and awareness of the acquired competencies.

Aims and goals of the project

iCitizen is a youth exchange, in which the goal is to develop a conscious Internet consuming habit in the participants. We use the help of sharing experience to create a standard of a conscious Internet consumer. The youth exchange hosts representatives of 7 countries: Croatia, Lithuania, Italy, Portugal, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary. 30 youngsters between the age of 16 to 25 with 1 group leader from each organisation. During the exchange, we go around the world of the Internet from different sides and then create an online database useful for partner organizations that can be used for Internet security issues. Based on the data, the participants create creative content, which will be part of the dissemination events and the regular media camp of the hosting organization.

The aim of the project is to make young people become more conscious Internet users and content-creators after their participation, and at the same time to involve them in sharing the experiences of the exchange, so that the results can be delivered to as many layers of society as possible.

In addition to the main theme, exchange experiences will also include intercultural learning, which can be demonstrated by both young people and partner organizations in their activities as part of the promotion of the Erasmus + Program. The effects of the project in Pécsvárad are planned to be more impactful, as we are also moving to the local high school together with the young people abroad, and we also want to give young people the opportunity to meet each other.

The project consists of an APV as well as the organization of the youth exchange itself. We also actively involve partner organizations as well as team leaders and participating young people in the preparation, implementation and dissemination of activities. Most of the activities are realized through the implementation of non-formal learning methods around the subject of Internet usage and security. In addition, the development of intercultural, foreign language and interpersonal competences among young people is emphasized, which we consider non-formal learning methods to be ideal and proven methods to facilitate the learning process. In order to achieve the best results, we want to use continuous evaluations, which we use already in the evaluation methods of Youthpass, as well as all the non-formal tools that promote learning of learning (planning, goal, evaluation) for similar projects.

During the exchange, the subject of the Internet is explored in several aspects, to which a smaller amount of preliminary preparation from the participating groups is expected. The methods used are also included in the detailed program plan as an attachment.

Participants will come from a total of 6 countries, representing 4-4 young people per partner organization, typically aged between 16 and 25. Each of the youngsters is a user of the Internet and some of them have already expressed interest in the topic when designing the project, partnering with the partner organizations, and the other young people will be selected through an open call. We want to provide opportunities for disadvantaged young people to participate as well. Our Italian partner organization is coming from a small village like Pécsvárad, where unfortunately young people are also struggling with geographical disadvantages. Several of our partners have also indicated that financially disadvantaged young people would be involved in the project, who would otherwise probably not be able to travel abroad. We are doing our best to support disadvantaged young people as much as we can during the preparatory visit.

The biggest result of the project is the learning process that will be experienced by the participating young people (and team leaders). This can be demonstrated not only by the main topic of exchange, Internet security, but also by developing intercultural learning, foreign language and interpersonal and civic competences. We take great care to ensure the learning process, as explained in the relevant sections and in the program plan.

During the project, an exhibition will be held, which will be taking place at the local school. It will be a meeting place for the participating young people, and we will also announce all intercultural evenings to the public. In addition, we are planning to invite the staff of Pécsvárad TV to report in a separate compilation for the local population. In the television programme, we also want to invite foreign participants to take part in.

In addition to local results and impacts, it is important to emphasize that, based on their new experiences, the participating young people will also prepare different online content (meme, image, vlog, etc.) that is fit for sharing both by the specific participants and by the partner organizations and the coordinating organization. These can be widely promoted, complemented by the participants’ own experiences, and a preliminary plan (strategy) will be prepared for the promotion during the preparatory visit. When disseminating the results and impacts of the project, we pay special attention to promoting the fact that the project will be supported by the Erasmus + Program, which provides many opportunities for many young people and youth organizations. We are attentive to the visibility and promotion of the Erasmus + Program throughout the project period.

Participants profile

35 youngsters who are between 16-25 years old belonging to partner organizations, involved, interested and motivated to participate in the project. Participants are people who fit the criteria mentioned above, such as are N.E.E.T or otherwise unoccupied. In the selection phase, people presenting the unemployed profile, such as are N.E.E.T or otherwise unoccupied, will have the highest priority. In addition, in the respect of equal opportunities, gender balance will be guaranteed. Having an interest in the project’s topic is mandatory – it’s not a holiday!

All participants have to be over 16 years old as otherwise, they cannot participate in the project. Exceptions will be made for those who are with fewer opportunities.
All participants should speak and understand English.
Participants should be curious of discovering other cultures.
Participants should be interested in making follow up international projects.

The Venue: Liptod, Hungary

The youth exchange will take place in Liptód that is small village inhabiting around 200 people. Liptód its famous about its tranquillity and nature, many hiking trails starts here. Gastronomy is also important! You can buy many local products and in that, you can ask assistance from the owners of the guesthouses where you will sleep and eat too. The village has just 5 streets, and one small shop. Good to know that the shop is open from 6.30 AM till 10.00 AM and if you need anything special you have to indicate to the owner at least a day before and then they may provide it. Community of Liptód also has a youth house (even the number of the youth does not reach a quarter of the population), and the most interesting part is that the majority of the youth has a personal key to the youth house. Liptód is not so far from Mohács (17km) nor Pécs (30km) by car, its challenging to leave the village by public transport.

You will be accommodated in the Youth Camp of Liptód (calls Jómadár Ifjúsági Szálló). This Youth Camp has 3 separate houses close to each other. There are 2 or 4 shower and toilets to be used separately for boys and girls (the number of the bathrooms depends on the size of the house). The rooms also the toilets and showers won’t be co-educated!

Every meal (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) will be prepared by the owners of the accommodation. All of them will be provided in the main building of the Youth Camp, where you can expect Hungarian cuisine with respect to your special dietary restrictions if you have any. During the day we will provide 2 coffee breaks with some snacks and fruits. We are kindly asking all of you to provide very concretely your dietary restrictions in order to be prepared! If you don’t do that we won’t be able to address it.

Responsibilities

Each participant should have valid health insurance (for example European Health Card) and travel insurance during the whole participation in the project. Also, participants must have during the youth exchange the travel documents: identity card/passport.

Each national group will have the occasion to present their country, culture, customs and traditions to all participants. You can bring food, drinks, songs and other traditional things specific to your country. Participants must prepare a presentation of the sending organization which will be presented during the workshop Networking. So bring with you material about your organization (brochures, flyers, etc.). Avatud Ühiskond MTÜ will assist you with that. For the project, each national group should prepare brief research about the project topic. Avatud Ühiskond will be able to help with that as well – we are going to have a preparatory meeting in Estonia with the whole group and the group leader has the possibility to attend the advanced preparatory meeting.

The Erasmus + Programme will cover 100% of the accommodation, food and activities and will reimburse 100% of the travel costs for the participants – up to 275 euros. Participants will receive a “Youthpass” certificate which describes and validates the non-formal and informal learning experience gained during the project. Youthpass is a European recognition tool for non-formal and informal learning in youth work, developed by SALTO, initially for the Youth in Action programme. Youthpass is for projects funded by Erasmus+ youth programmes and helps the participants of those projects to record their learning and skills development, which could then be used to support job applications or applications for further courses for example. The applicants will be notified 30.01.2020 the latest.
